Vidisha K. Hathiramani
Vidisha Hathiramani is a Partner in the Property Department. She was called to the Bar in Barbados in 2002 and has been practising property law throughout her legal career.
Vidisha specializes in both commercial and residential real estate law, and her expertise covers a wide-ranging expanse of transactions, including those in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, conveyancing, share sales and purchases, residential and commercial leases, residential and commercial developments and real estate financing.
In commercial real estate, the transactions on which she has worked encompass a wide range of sectors including tourism, malls, restaurants, finance, insurance and oil and gas. In residential real estate, she has extensive experience in dealing with a variety of structures involving land lots, condominiums and villas including different forms of conveyances and company structures.
Vidisha has been involved in transactions of diverse sizes, types and complexity. She has helped her clients over the years by providing sound advice on a variety of areas within real estate law in Barbados, including but not limited to regulatory issues (such as exchange control and planning) and the structuring of various types of property acquisitions.
Her clients are both local and international. They range from real estate developers and investors, hotel groups, financial institutions, individuals and privately-owned companies.
Vidisha has been invited to deliver presentations on property law to real estate agents and financial institutions. She has also written articles on various property law topics, purposefully designed to provide insight to clients and members of the public on specific areas of interest.
The variety of people with whom Vidisha has worked, her range of experience and her unwavering commitment over the years to the area of property law have given her a deep understanding of the needs and requirements of real estate clients and keen commercial insight.
She is a member of the Barbados Bar Association’s Land Transfer Committee and of the Law Society of England & Wales.
