Shachia Small
Shachia Small is an Associate in our Litigation Department, having joined the Firm in 2025. She supports the department’s work in complex commercial disputes, assisting with legal research, drafting, and advisory work while bringing a strong academic foundation and a meticulous approach to legal analysis.
Shachia earned her Bachelor of Laws degree with Upper Second Class Honours from The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus in 2023. She subsequently attended the Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad and Tobago, where she graduated on the Principal’s Honour Roll and was awarded her Legal Education Certificate in 2025. She was called to the Barbados Bar that same year.
During her studies, she distinguished herself academically, receiving several awards including the Finisterre Attorneys Scholarship, the Edmund Hinkson Prize in Commonwealth Caribbean Human Rights Law, the Council of Legal Education Prize for Most Outstanding Year I Student, The Book Specialist Prize for First Outstanding Year I Student and the Barbados Bar Association Prize for Best Performance by a Barbadian Student.
Her developing passion for dispute resolution is demonstrated by her completion of mediation training with Phoenix Dispute Solutions. Beyond her professional pursuits, she maintains an active lifestyle, is engaged in her church community, and enjoys exploring her love for music.
