Ramon Alleyne, SC, has been the Managing Partner of our Firm since 2016. His astute leadership has steered the Firm successfully through challenging economic times, always ensuring that the Firm remains the leading commercial law firm in Barbados, providing superior service to its clients.
A Senior Counsel with over thirty years’ experience, Ramon is an LL.B. Honours graduate of The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. He also holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom.
An accomplished commercial litigator and advisor, Ramon has a wealth of experience providing corporate and commercial services, including advising international and local lawyers and clients on banking and financial transactions, labour matters, insolvency issues and regulatory affairs. His area of expertise encompasses litigation, business law, commercial law, labour and employment law, secured lending, construction law and regulatory affairs.
When it really matters, Ramon is the right man to have your back. A testament to this is when he successfully litigated one of the largest commercial claims in Barbados to proceed through full trial. He has represented and advised members of the “Big Four” accounting firms in Barbados, and in that capacity, litigated many of the major insolvency matters that had gone to trial including, what is to date the largest insolvency administration across seven regional jurisdictions involving a regional insurance company. This was a historic, groundbreaking case for the Caribbean and Ramon was where he performs best, in the thick of things!
Additionally, Ramon is an active participant in the public sector, where he uses his extensive expertise for the betterment of Barbados. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sanitation Service Authority – his second term in this capacity, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Barbados Pharmaceutical Inc., Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Industrial and Employment Fund, a Member of the Board of Directors of the Barbados Mass Transit Authority, and a Member of the Electoral and Boundaries Commission of Barbados. Ramon also worked on the financing and implementation of large public sector infrastructure projects, including the South Coast Sewage Project, both as legal advisor and client representative.
