Jaina O. Colucci
Jaina Colucci is a Senior Associate in our Property Department, having joined our Firm in 2012.
Jaina’s several years’ experience in real estate has been gained through conducting a variety of day-to-day transactions on behalf of both local and international clients.
As part of her practice, she handles areas such as estate planning, mortgages, conveyancing, construction contracts, residential and commercial leases, title deed restoration applications and secured lending. Her property practice and interpersonal skills are also strengthened by her previous stint working in the debt collection department within one of the island’s main banking institutions. These skills have been carried into her current field.
Jaina pursued legal studies at The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus and graduated in 2010 having earned her LL.B. (Hons.) degree. Subsequently she attained her Legal Education Certificate from the Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad and Tobago in 2012, graduating on the Principal’s Roll of Honor in 2012 and was called to the Bar in Barbados that same year.
Since joining our Firm Jaina has conducted several training seminars and presentations in the areas of mortgages, secured lending and estate law with the Property Department and regularly contributes articles on property and estate matters to the Firm’s newsletter. She also assists our Firm in its annual hosting of the Mooting Competition held at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, where she acts as a judge for the students within the Law Faculty.
Outside of work Jaina is passionate about giving back to her community and enjoys partaking in remedial work in the early education of children. Part of her spare time is also filled with the pursuit of her interest in traveling, exploring other cultures, hiking, the arts and languages.
