Annette Y. Linton
Annette Linton is a Partner in the Property Department, having joined our Firm in 2005. Annette has over 18 years’ experience in property transactions relating to the sale and purchase of residential and commercial real estate, residential and commercial leases, the sale of shares of property holding companies, residential and commercial developments, condominium developments and residential and commercial mortgage transactions. She has worked with a wide range of clientele, ranging from individual firsttime home buyers to large financial institutions and property developers.
Her practice has also grown to include an estate law practice and she regularly advises local, regional and international clients on Barbadian estate law, preparation of wills, trusts, obtaining grants of administration and probate and the administration of estates.
She has published several articles on both property and estate law. Some of the topics on which she has published articles include purchasing real estate through an offshore company, the process of buying and selling real estate in Barbados, making a will and the duties and responsibilities of executors and administrators. Annette has also conducted numerous workshops on estate planning both for private and public organizations. She has also tutored real estate agents on the legal aspects of real estate transactions for the Barbados Community College and the Barbados Estate Agents and Valuers Association.
Annette was called to the Bar in Barbados in 2003, having obtained her Legal Education Certificate from the Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad & Tobago.
